Linemen Sculpture 2018

High School students in Lakeland, FL were invited to design and build a prototype of a sculpture. The concept is to symbolically share our collective gratitude for Lakeland Electric‘s linemen and their hard work after the destruction of Hurricane Irma.

Students work will be judged at our Platform Kids  event (details below)  by representatives of Lakeland Electric, artist/fabricator Becky Ault and our staff at Platform ART! The winning students’ work will be scaled and duplicated in steel and bronze by artist, Becky Ault, at her studio in Pennsylvania. Both student and teacher are invited to work with Ault in her studio, learning to cast and pour copper. Installment with ribbon cutting is expected to take place in May/June of 2018.
